Back in London...

Well I arrived back in London yesterday afternoon around 3pm, the sun was shining the weather was great and it was hmmmm... "good" to be back.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad that I'll be catching up with all my friends and one special lady in particular.

It's just having wanted to go back to Australia all my life. I'm pretty sad to have left it behind, even if it is only for a few months.

That's life.

Add there's more...

Sickening that someone called Jimmn'y Cricket could have a lucrative career based on shat jokes and saying... "And there's more"...

Worse that I remember him being really funny... he wasn't though.

Still this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I've posted a new gallery of photos... just a tiny diversion from the "Hey! I've got more photo's to show you!" crap...

Enjoy

Many more photo's

I've just compiled my newest set of photos ...

I went back to Manly last weekend and during the week I spent a day over at Maroubra again, the weather was really gorgeous too, I have to say it's still very odd trying to get my brain around the idea that it's actually supposed to be winter here...

Anyway, these photo's capture more of what I was after last time I visited these two lovely places...

I doubt I'd get all the photo's I want from Maroubra even if I lived here for years, in fact I think this would be the place I'd like to live near Sydney, aside from the awesome coastline, there's a distinct lack of shop's, bars and so-on, which makes it very nice and seems to stop hordes of people visiting.

Still there's enough here to keep you from going elsewhere if, like me, you enjoy quiet spots with gorgeous scenery...

Gallery updates...

I've been working on extending my flash based photo gallery, a few new features are now on the lastest gallery... Click Here to see

  • The transitions now use a brightness blend, which I like very much, I think the way it blends the photos in and out from their light sources looks really cool.
  • A tool tip now appears when you hover over the image navigation buttons, which displays the photo title... which is quite handy.
  • I've added a background image too, which wasn't a difficult thing but meant a preloader needed to be added... nothing too fancy just eye-candy.

I've been pondering the idea of adding scrolling for oversized images... some of my panoramic shots really need to be on the galleries properly. I've also been thinking about adding thumbnails, but I think maybe the tool-tip will be enough...

I've also extended the gallery to accept it's object (image or swf) listings as an xml file, and this has meant it's easy for me to turn the gallery into a mini-site engine for some of my low-low budget clients...

The system allows these guys to update their own content by modifying static images or SWF's (animated or not) and updating the site XML file, which also controls things like an email gateway, audio clip or featured link.

Back to London soon...

Well, I'm on my way back to London in a couple of weeks...

I'm working for the last 2 weeks before I leave Sydney, and it's a bit of a shame to have to leave, it's so beautiful here.

It's been a few weeks since I put my new photos up, it's been difficult to get online recently, since my apartment doesn't have a landline and getting ADSL would have been a bit of a waste of money for just 9 weeks.

So anyway, here's a new photo gallery from the last few weeks, mostly I've been spending my free time down at Bronte, Bondi, Maroubra and Coogee beaches

Even though it's a shame to leave, I'm really looking forward to seeing all my lovely friends again back in England, seems that quite a lot has been happening while I was gone.

I'll be coming back to Oz toward the new year, I haven't decided when yet, we'll see what happens...
